10th Annual Portland, Oregon Double All Day Singing

Please join us in Portland on Saturday and Sunday May 4-5, 2024, for the 10th Annual Portland Sacred Harp Double All Day Singing!

We will sing from the 1991 Sacred Harp editiion (Denson) on Saturday and the Christian Harmony on Sunday.

Registration opens at 9 am. We will sing from 9:30-3:00 both days, with dinner on the grounds at noon.

Loaner books will be available. No previous singing experience is required, and newcomers are encouraged to attend!

Venue

The Laurelhurst Club, 3721 SE Ankeny St, Portland OR

The venue is fully accessible via a ramp from the sidewalk, and there is plenty of nearby on-street parking.

Singing School

There will be a Singing School on Friday night, May 3, from 7-9pm taught by Keillor Mose from Connecticut at a venue to be determined. Please check back soon for details!

We will also have a social on Saturday evening. More info about the social will be shared at the singing.

Housing

We have a limited amount of housing with local singers available. Please contact Dorothy Robinson at poshhousingcommittee@gmail.com for your housing requests.

There are also numerous AirBnB's within walking distance in the Belmont/Sunnyside, Laurelhurst, and Kerns neighborhoods. Good hotel options are the Aloft, Holiday Inn Express, and Residence Inn at the PDX airport, all adjacent to MAX light rail stations with a simple bus transfer to The Laurelhurst Club. Additionally, the NW Hostel is a good nearby option for travel on the cheap.

COVID Protocols

We kindly request all singers to test each day attending. Preferably less than 2 hours prior to entering the venue. (3 tests total, if you also attend the Friday night Singing School). We will have a limited number of tests available at the door

Those with symptoms suggestive of viral respiratory illness, i.e. nasal congestion, sore throat, fever or cough are requested to refrain from attending -- even if testing negative that day.

Please report any positive tests during, and for 5 days after, the singing weekend to Thom Fahrbach at poshchair@gmail.com. At your request, your identity can be maintained as anonymous. Positives will be reported as a courtesy on an email list collected from registration cards day of entry.

Venue doors and windows may be open to ensure optimal ventilation. CO2 levels monitored. Please dress accordingly.
